Surgery - Implant placement |
|||
Smoking is not an absolute contraindication for dental implants and full mouth rehabilitation but we need to be cautioned about the bone quality, tissue healing capacity and bone turnover time in such patients. Here we have placed implants in a chronic smoker who had an impacted tooth in the mandible - in the proposed site for tilted implants [All on 4] due to which All on 6 was done in the lower arch and All on 4 in the upper arch. All implants gave good primary stability and had good soft tissue healing. We neither faced complications nor had to change the planned procedures as we had exercised extreme caution during the surgical procedure. |
